Not ‘for a rainy day’, but for everyday spending: how Ukrainians use the NovaPay credit card

In May 2025, NovaPay* launched its own credit card – and since then, over 74,000 customers have signed up for it. The total value of the card’s credit portfolio has exceeded UAH 800 million.

The card offers a grace period of up to 62 days, meaning you can spend the money now and repay it interest-free. For those used to planning their budget in advance, this is a handy tool: the money is available when you need it, without any extra financial pressure.

Ukrainians aged 23–40 are the most active users of the credit card – this group accounts for over 58% of all customers of the product. Men make up around 60% of the user base, though women demonstrate high levels of credit usage.

The average monthly expenditure of a credit card user is 7,670 UAH, of which over UAH 7,199 is credit. This indicates that customers use the card primarily as a fully-fledged credit facility for everyday expenses.

The most common ways of using a credit card are:
💳 transfers to cards held with other banks;
🛒 purchases in physical shops and online;
📦 payment for Nova Poshta delivery and cash-on-delivery services.

At the same time, in-store purchases significantly outnumber online shopping, whilst cash withdrawals remain minimal – less than 1,4% of total turnover.

We see that credit cards have become an everyday tool for customers – for purchases, money transfers, and payments for services and logistics. At the same time, lending rules are not static: we are constantly adapting scoring models and approaches to setting limits in line with customer behaviour, accumulated statistics, and current realities, said Bohdan Hryvko, Risk Management Director at NovaPay.

As a reminder, you can apply for a credit card in just a few taps via the NovaPay app. The system makes a decision on the credit limit within 10 seconds.

The NovaPay credit card combines classic credit functionality with benefits for customers of the NOVA ecosystem. Users can receive up to 20% cashback when paying by credit card for Nova Poshta deliveries and on cash-on-delivery fees (provided the parcel is sent via  cash-on-delivery).

The maximum credit limit is up to UAH 200,000, with a loan term of 60 months under the agreement with NovaPay Credit LLC and 12 months with NovaPay LLC. The effective annual interest rate is 79,59% per annum. The limit is revolving: once funds are repaid, the available limit is automatically replenished.

* The credit card has been created using credit products from two companies operating under the NovaPay brand: cards from NovaPay LLC and a revolving credit line from NovaPay Credit LLC.
