It will soon be possible to use NovaPay cards to make payments abroad
17 September, 2026

In the near future, NovaPay cards will be accepted for payments for goods and services abroad, as well as for foreign online services.
These options have become available following a decision by the National Bank of Ukraine, which has allowed customers of non-bank payment institutions to pay for goods, works, and services abroad using cards linked to hryvnia payment accounts. The limit for such transactions is up to the equivalent of UAH 200,000 per month.
For NovaPay customers, this means that in the near future, they will be able to make full use of their card whilst travelling abroad: to pay for purchases, accommodation, meals, or other services. They will also be able to use it to pay for foreign subscriptions and online services.
“We were really looking forward to this decision by the NBU. For NovaPay customers, this is first and foremost about greater freedom in using their card not only in Ukraine but also abroad. At the same time, it is an important step for the entire fintech market. Non-bank financial services are gaining more opportunities to develop and compete on an equal footing with banks. And more competition means, first and foremost, more choice for customers,” comments Ihor Prykhodko, CEO of NovaPay.
The NBU’s decision also opens up opportunities for other transactions. In particular, individuals will be able to receive international transfers into their hryvnia payment accounts following currency conversion. Ukrainian businesses will be able to accept payments from foreign customers for goods and services into such accounts.
