For the security and speed of customer transactions: the NovaPay app’s key services are now in the cloud
29 April, 2025

NovaPay has completed another stage of digital transformation: critical mobile app systems have been completely moved from physical servers to the cloud infrastructure.
“After the implementation of the new architecture, the throughput of our application systems increased by 50%, meaning that we reduced the time of all transactions for our customers by one and a half times: payments, transfers, card, and loan processing. It also made it possible to significantly strengthen data protection in line with international standards. We are creating a hybrid IT infrastructure that combines the capabilities of local data centers and cloud services,” — says Hryhorii Lisnychyi, Director of IT at NovaPay.
Key services responsible for making payments, protecting card data, and connecting to payment systems were moved to the cloud. For this purpose, the company used AWS, Google Cloud, and Ukrainian cloud provider solutions.
NovaPay’s IT strategy for 2025 also includes introducing new artificial intelligence systems for fraud detection, transitioning to an updated cyber defense model, and launching its own data warehouse to create personalized financial services.
NovaPay is an international financial service part of the NOVA group of companies (Nova poshta). It has provided online and offline payment services in more than 3,600 Nova poshta branches for almost 13 years. NovaPay was the first non-bank financial institution in Ukraine to receive an extended NBU license, which allowed it to open accounts and issue cards.
