The popularity of invoicing at NovaPay has risen by 30%: how individual entrepreneurs are changing the approach to payments

In the NovaPay app, invoicing is rapidly gaining popularity. This tool allows entrepreneurs to quickly issue invoices to customers without complex integrations or additional software. The service’s main user base consists of individual entrepreneurs operating in the online retail sector, and it is they who are shaping a new culture of simple and fast payments.

“Right from the start, the number of invoices created was already significant. Users were actively getting to grips with the new tool. However, after four months of the invoicing service being in operation, the monthly volume has increased by 30%. The service is gradually becoming part of daily work: you can quickly issue an invoice, track payments, and avoid wasting time on unnecessary steps,” notes Yana Levada, Director of Business Development at NovaPay.

Who uses invoicing?

Today, invoicing is primarily a story about online entrepreneurs. Around 80% of users are individual entrepreneurs who sell via social media, messaging apps, or marketplaces. In other words, people who don’t have a separate website with a payment module, but do have an Instagram account, a Telegram channel, and a desire to receive payments quickly and without unnecessary hassle.

What do they sell? Literally everything found in small-scale Ukrainian retail: clothes and shoes, children’s toys and tableware, generators and charging stations, car parts, fertilizers, and wedding accessories. On average, each entrepreneur issues 6 invoices per month, whilst the most active issues over 50.

How do customers pay?

Over half of all invoice payments are made via Apple Pay, with around a quarter via Google Pay. Together, these account for over 75% of all transactions, which are completed in just a few clicks. Manually entering card details is gradually becoming a thing of the past, accounting for only around a fifth of payments, whilst saved wallets remain a niche option.

We’ve noticed that entrepreneurs are keen on Invoice, so we’re preparing the next set of updates to make the service even less ‘obtrusive’ during the workflow: fewer steps to set up, more control within the app, and clearer payments for customers. In short, everything to ensure that business owners focus on sales rather than invoices,” shares Yana Levada, Director of Business Development at NovaPay.
